Tips to Protect Your Car from Theft

If your car is stolen or broken into, of course it would be very disturbing, in terms of emotional or financial. If your car is stolen, you must go through complicated insurance claim for your car, and as long as such insurance is processed, you will feel uncomfortable. Even though your car has been replaced by insurance, the memories of your car being stolen will make you always feel afraid and suspicious every day.

Thieves can easily steal your car. They can break the car window and opened the door. Therefore, make sure that you perform necessary actions that can prevent your car from being stolen.

1. Do not leave valuables in the car, which can be seen from outside. If you leave your bag, stereo, CD's, wallet or mobile phone in your car, it will become the target of thieves.

2. Park your car in bright and visible spot. Thieves do not want to act in the spotlight or where people can see him.

3. If you have a garage, keep the car in the garage and lock it. Thieves would not dare to broke into the garage just to steal your car.

4. Never forget to lock your car.

5. Parking your car in public parking lot which has a keeper.

6. Make sure that your car alarm installed by a professional.

7. Install a lock to the steering wheel.

8. Put the immobilizer in your car, so even if a thief can break the glass and opened the door, he can not drive it.

9. Place a tracker in your car so you can find out where the car is located if stolen.

10. Put a security marking on your car.

11. Do not leave your car documents in the car. This can ease the thief to sell your it.

If you become a victim of car theft, the most appropriate step to do is:

o Immediately contact the police. Give as much detail as possible about your car, such as brand, type, color, vehicles registration number, and other details that could indicate your car.

o Immediately notify the insurance company, if your car is insured.

o If your car was found and apparently damaged, insurance must pay for the repair. If it can't be found and you will claim the insurance policies, prepare purchase documents, registration forms, and records of service.

All people is at risk of becoming victims of car theft. Even though you already install the protection, thieves will always find a way to steal your car. Make sure you register your car to the insurance so you can make a claim if something bad happens.
