The global warming issue keep pushing automotive manufacturer to held an event called Eco-Driving. Daihatsu has its own way to do it, by hosting a Gas Saving Contest.If all this time the Gas Saving Contest only held for a few days, Astra Daihatsu Inc. held it for three months.
"The Eco-Driving habit should be a habit to the participants, so that the gas usage can be reduced to 20%-30%, at the same time, reduced the gas emission in and air polution" said Marketing Director Astra Daihatsu, Amelia Tjandra.
European Climate Change Programme predicted, an Eco-Driving action will reduced 50 million of CO2 emission in Europe. Image how if the Eco-Driving pattern can applied by all the vehicle owner in the world.
The contest started with Eco-Driving coaching at June 26, 2010 at Daihatsu Learning Center, North Jakarta. Daihatsu car owner will be teached to drive economicaly, at the same time, comfortable.
"At this time, all automotive manufacturer race to produce car with environment-friendly. In Europe, Eco-Driving is a prequisities for Driving License holder. With the contest held for three months, we hope that Eco-Driving could be a natural habit in Daihatsu community" said Amelia.
