In the 2000 years long of Southeast Asia history, Indonesia dominated with its Sriwijaya and Majapahit Kingdom. But the newest archaeological findings in Malaysia could change the history.A researcher team from University of Science Malaysia found a new civilization in Bujang Valley, Malaysia. The team found an iron industry which is believed to be build in the Old Kedah era. This proved that the Malaysian history is far older than what it believed.
Professor Stephen James Oppenheimer from Oxford University, said that this findings can rewrite the history of Southeast Asia.
According to Oppenheimer, this findings is not only important to Malaysia, but also the entire Southeast Asia because the evidents show the existence of monumental structures and advanced civilization which includes the exploitation of iron ore from local mountains, and iron smelting as well.
The findings will be published in International Journal to gain recognition from International archaeologists.
