Jamie Carragher Prepare Leaving Liverpool

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher revealed that he had "no problem" to leave Anfield when his contract was not renewed.

Carragher, who spent his entire career at Liverpool, still has one year remaining on his contract after this season, and there are no signs that the contract will be renewed.

The 32-year-old player is seeking certainty about the club's plan for him but Liverpool wanted Carragher to focus on his performance this season before talking about the contract.

"The club will give me a new contract if they wanted to" said Carragher. "If they do not want, no problem. I'll keep playing with my best and if it had to move then I will move, no problem. I do not mind".

Carragher resign from the national team in 2007 because of frustration with the lack of opportunities in the English national team and declared that he was "not afraid to make big decisions".

"This is a club matter" he said. "Everything depends on them. I'll keep playing and see where it goes".

This season, only Dirk Kuyt and Lucas Leiva who have more appearances than Carragher in Liverpool, indicating that this club still desperately need the power of their vice-captain.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez said: "There is no new news about Carragher. We've talked to him and now he just wants to concentrate on doing his job"

"I think Jamie did not have a problem with the current situation. He is comfortable with this situation and will wait".
